I'm looking at buying bucket seat foams, convertible top and convertible boot cover.
Legendary is quite a bit more money then parts place and the old saying goes you get what you pay for.
So anyone out there used one or the other before?
Is legendary better quality and fit?

Legendary is the manufacturer, PUI is out there too.
Most other places are all resellers.
PUI won't sell to individuals. Legendary likely giving the volume buyers better pricing.
I've always used Legendary & was quite pleased with both product & customer support.
Keep your eye on the site for sales/clearance events.
You can save a bit this way if you can wait.

I've heard that all the bucket seat foams are basically the same. Bought a real cheap set on ebay advertised for a Chevelle and cut them to fit. They came out real nice too.

Legendary, very happy with mine. My upholstery guy was impressed with the quality, stitching and fit.

After my POOR dealing with The Parts Place reguarding their rear spoiler, I wouldn't buy ANYTHING from them. Asolutely NO effective response from them after NUMEROUS emails. Others have similar issues with them. Do a search, and you'll see. Just my opinion.

I want to get a new convertible top and have the glass already
Saw legendary sells convertible top only $199 and back section with glass $199
The guy on the phone made it sound like I need both pieces
If I have the glass already don't I just need the top

Thanks

Dan

I got the convertible top boot from Legendary last year. Looks great, and the fit was PERFECT.

Convertible top... Electron Top in New York. www.electrontop.com
Their products are first class; Referals to good installers in or near your area.

Dan,

Do you have the glass with the material glued to it? If it is just the glass you need the whole thing. It would be best to buy both pieces from the same manufacture. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com[IMG]I think two manufactures of seat foams and the best is ACI.

I just have the glass with no material
So the other piece is glass with material and does it zip to the top?
Or does it get sewen to the top ?

You can tell I never replaced a top before

The piece is glass w/ material sewn on, you need the whole deal. If you don't know a lot, you will probably need a pro to install the top. It's always best to find the pro first, some will not work with certain tops, or they have a preference to make. If you go in with a top, they may refuse to do it, or charge you more. If they sell you the top they make $ on it, if you bring it they won't. They may also not cover the warranty, but if you buy their top they will. My guy only likes to use those electron tops, he put one on my 'stang and it came out nice + guaranteed, My advice is find your pro first and see what they suggest or say.

The glass is BONDED to the material with some type of adhesive. Entire top is two main parts, top cover material and rear glass with material. You would also likely need new cables, new pads, new seals. Not likely a job for a first timer; I still farm this out to a shop that comes recommended...
Some tops are better than others. Ask your local top shop, or call a manufacturer of the tops for referal. There are MANY resellers, few Manufacturers.

Chris,

You can mark that down with the rest of the "don't believe everything you hear" stuff.

The foam from American Cushion Industries is made specifically for the GS cars..

These are the industry standard for quality, and fit far better than any others I have seen. No cutting required. Seat visual, and feel is exactly like it should be, which was really a problem with the early buckets, before they created the correct foam. You can get away with the cheapie foam in a 71-72 bucket, as the cover is different, but put that in a 70 seat, and it's a dissaster..

been there, done that..

JW

Legendary sells these, along with many other re-sellers.
