I was just lookin at a a website about interchangable parts between the 364 and 401 (http://www.buicks.net/shop/reference/nailhead_interchange.html), and it says the intake manifold is not interchangable but the heads are the the same. Where is the difference that makes it not interchangable?o No:
The deck height is where the difference is, the 401/425 is a bit taller than a 364, and therefore the manifold sits up a little higher and needs to be slightly wider.
If your looking for a 4bbl intake for a 364 be prepaired to pay out the ass. around $150 when the 401's go for about $30. If you are looking for one let me know I know who has one, or at least did have one.
I was wondering 'cause i wanted to know what all parts i could put on the 364 and 401, and that way when i get the 401 i just switch out the parts
Not to divert from the main topic (too much) but your image looks like a 60 flattop I saw on eBay for sale. If that is your car, greetings from a fellow 60 Buick flattop owner! I've done extensive research on 59-60 Buicks (interchanges, whatnot) so if you've got a question about those cars, ask and I will answer the best I can. ~Fraz
It is, I saw it on there and wanted to bid on but didn't, then when it went off with no bids I sent them a offer on it and i'm working on getting it shipped.
try www.oldbuuickparts.com, www.classicbuicks.com, or www.buickfarm.com. As for interior they got some. Restoring buicks is kind of a pain in the a** alot of parts are hard to come by. www.wheatbeltbuick.com is a salvage yard for just buicks and theyll help out alot and are quite fair $$$.
