As I understand it, our cars stainless came with a layer of flash chrome from the factory. In restoring my GSX, I had all my stainless flash chromed after polish (not cheap!) This is the best article I could find on the subject: http://www.iversonautomotive.com/stainless.htm My stainless work wasn't done there, but that article gives a pretty good idea of what was done and why. I was surprised myself when Nick told me that the parts were originally flash chromed.
Duane- My car originally came with 14 x 6 wheels, which I still have and which are pretty ratty. I upgraded to 15 x 7, so date codes, wheel codes, etc are not matching. The ones on the car were NOS, however, just not period correct, although who can tell with the wheel mounted?
Ken I will take the wire harness and nose hood trim. If I go to BPG I will give you the cash or i will give it to Nick to give to you. Hopefully he can being it back for me. I will touch base with him. Mike
Nick has the harness; I have the nose trim. You can have Nick put the harness on your motor before he puts it back in (work out the details with him). I'll be going to Nick's/Yardley's before the Nats and can drop off the nose trim with him. Cash is good! :TU:
