Does anyone know the part number for the 455 rear main seal in neoprene? I don't want to use the rope again. I have used the rope and had zero leaks, I just want neoprene this time Also, a recommendation. They have pulled through for me before, but today I called them for parts, and they told me- get this- "Sorry, that's an obsolete part. we don't carry it." :rant: Well no kidding, jack@ss! The flippin car has been obsolete since 1978! You're supposed to be working at a place people use to get OLD CAR PARTS! "THEN and NOW" is the company's name and old junk is hanging out ALL OVER your store! I bought a ball joint there for my obsolete car that was in the original packaging, just last September! I USED to buy my parts for my obsolete car there all the time! USED to. Now somebody else can have my money. Obsolete, he says! Well what do you know, I guess that's why I hardly ever see a 1970 Skylark Custom Convertible on the showroom floor anymore, eh, Einstein?! :af: :moonu: Not to mention that the parts are still being made right now by the manufacturer!

The Cadillac seal will need to be trimmed, SCE gasket company has a rear main seal that is a direct fit for the 455. Finishline motorsports sells this seal and many other parts for our Buicks. Call Geof Ketchum at 616-765-5101 ask for Geof and tell the girl on the phone its about Buick parts.
I just got off the phone with Geoff. He fixed me up with the rear main and also some other stuff I needed in about 2 minutes :TU:
