    Hey guys,

I'm about to get started on re-wiring the Beast... 35 year old electrical systems and multiple hack jobs on said electrical system by previous owners makes this pretty much a neccesity... has anyone used any of the Painless wiring products? Any clue on price? Are they worth it? Anyone have any experience with these? thanks for the input!

    Painless wiring

You might want to check out E Z Wiring. Their product is very similar to Painless Wiring but is not as pricey. It is very good quality and is easy to install. We just used an E Z Wiring harness in my brothers 36 Chevy street rod and found it was a lot easier to insall than we antisipated. :) We didn't run into any real problems. It's almost idiot proof.:Dou: each wire is marked every 6" from the fuse box so tracing the wires through the car is a breeze. Just make sure you read the instructions fully before you start and don't try to skip around, work it step by step as in the instructions. Have fun!!!:TU:

By the way, the E Z Wiring harness is about $200.

I was very happy with my Painless kit for my electric fan setup, the quality is excellent. On the other hand it is not cheap. Anyone have a web address for E Z ?

I think I'll probably end up getting a harness from EZ come Cinco de Mayo (my 21st B-day, for all who care). Any suggestions on which one to get? How many circuits do I need? I have a pretty-stripped down car. No Air, no power anything (well brakes, but thats not electrical), just the basics. Oh, the guy I bought it from DID add a radio (cut a damn hole in the dash... grrrrrrrrrr :blast: )

Anyways, I'm kind of a neophyte when it comes to car electrical systems, so any suggestions are welcome.

All you will need is the basic kit. I think the one we used had 18 circuts. What ever you don't use just tie up out of the way for future possible uses. It explains in the instructions how to deal with unused circuts.:TU: Good luck with your project. We found it to be almost idiot proof, but it goes a lot easier routing wires with 2 people working on it. Let me know how it goes:Comp:
