We sure liked that game up here. Not sure what woke up U of M in the 4th quarter of the Minnesota game, but it sure is strong stuff. ("Glue, strong stuff.. Elwood Blues).

A six pack at Casey's shindig also works. :Brow:

Allright allright you won, checks in the mail. How is the garage coming?Done yet? I have another question for you How quick to you think a 68442 w30 would run .I have a friend that is looking for a 65 66 67 442 to race and can,t find one. But we find lots of 68 and 69s So my idea is to clone a 68 or 69 w30 to race at these events in the stock class What do you think these cars can run? 13.70?better? worse? you seem to know olds so that is why I ask:Do No:

    Thanks, Noel

65, 66, and 67 442's are very fast cars. The 68 and 69's are about 1-1.5 seconds slower. They're heavier and utilize a small bore, long stroke (from the 455) to get to 400 cubes.

    65-67 has a 4.00 bore and a 3.975 inch stroke
    68-69 has a 3.875 bore and a 4.25 inch stroke

They have the good heads (D on real W30's- very rare) and a lot of torque, but hp falls way off above 5000 RPM. Earlier ones are more like a W31 and hp keeps climbing well into the 6000 range.

    350's have a 4.057 bore with a 3.375 stroke and the 455's have a 4.125 bore with a 4.25 stroke.

The 68/69 442's are also pretty loaded up cars as that combo wasn't available in the lighter F85 or plain cutlass trim levels. That acounts for the additional weight.

I would say a well blueprinted small bore 400 in a minimum weight 68 or 69 will run high 13's at best, but probably closer to the mid to upper 14's in street tune.

Great game, I don't know what got into Michigan in the second half of the Minnesota game, but they've been on a rampage ever since. Hopefully they will keep it up through the bowl games.

Garage is done on the outside. Next comes power and gas for the heater. Looks really nice and I really like the size (36 wide by 26 deep with a 9 foot and an 18 foot door. 10 foot ceiling with 3 skylights. Any bigger would be hard to heat. Hope to store 3 of the cars sideways and keep the single bay open for a hoist and the diesel.
