If I sit in traffic for more than 10 minutes without going over 25 the temp light goes on. The radiator was replaced this summer and I stuck on a 6 bladed flex fan. but it still goes on. Once I roll over 25, it goes out. I'm not too worried about it but want to try to fix it before I get caught in one of our traffic jams. Any ideas on a fix?

you need a shroud. My car never runs hot even during summer. I run the stock clutch fan and a proper shroud.! :TU:

Make sure it will fit your car. Those are A Body shrouds TA is selling.

Post an ad on here in the Part wanted forum....see what interest there is. Bruce Durband was looking for a shroud for his 68 LeSabre, but I don't know if he found one or not. (68LeSabre4dr)

Also, try looking on ebay for a shroud.

There might be something you can fit from another car, with minimal effort. Perhaps someone around here knows?

Either find a shroud or switch to an electric fan on a temp switch.

If its not a show or restore car I vote for electric. Free up a few HP and they just cool better.

With an electric fan, I would remove the fan that's there now? I'm guessing this would help with gas milage too.

Yea, ditch the 6 blade. With it on a temp switch, you would will be surprised on how much the fan is not needed. And yea that saves HP n gas. It may not be a major amount though.

You can be cheap about it too and get a used fan off any V8 car/truck.
Or dual 4cyl fans so n n so fourth. Or spend $200 on a fancy race one.

I usually grab 1-2 when I do them $25 pick n pull days. $25 all you can carry.
Get a bad 3rd gen V6 fan for free-$5 and get a new $20 lifetime V8 motor from autozone. Same fan, different motor for the engine.

You could always get some of that waterwetter/etc stuff that lowers the temp as well.

If you go to an electric fan, be SURE to wire it through a relay. Otherwise, you're asking for burned wires, plus they can keep the engine running while they spin down, depending on how you wire them. Also, you can "outrun" your alternator in city driving, and drain the battery.
    Been there, done that... :Dou:

If you can score a junkyard shroud and get a GOOD thermal fan clutch, you'll be set.

If you ""outrun" your alternator in city driving" you have other problems. Most stereo system people put in cars pull more juice then a fan.
