A few days ago Tom Brady, at age 46 ran a faster 40-yard dash then his personal best when he was 22. Tom is not fast when compared to many other players, but how many of us were faster at 46 then 22? Whether you are a Brady fan or not , I think he deserves an attaboy for that accomplishment. For the record his best at 22 was 5.28; he did 5.12 at 46.

I am amazed that the retired players want to stay in top shape. Seems like Tom has a game plan....

I had to Google this a bit. Brady was as immobile as they come as a QB. Watching him scramble was painful, he couldn't get out of his own way. According to wikipedia (yeah, take it for what it's worth) the average offensive lineman runs the 40 yard dash at 5.30. This data is the 12 year average from the NFL combine. Kudos to him for improving himself, but be happy he could get rid of the ball quick...

In his active football days, Brady's claim to fame was that he had a pretty good arm and could read a defense better then just about anyone who was ever a professional quarterback. Tom replaced Drew Bledsoe, who in addition to being one of the classiest guys who ever played the game, was often called "Howitzer arm." Bledsoe was injured during a game and second-string Brady was called in to salvage whatever he could. After about two plays everybody watching the game, knew that Bledsoe had made his last start for the Patriots.
