Original rear window egg shell corners

Looking for a clean original set without any chips or cracks. My originals were smooth and I'm looking for a smooth set.


The Parts Place repros seem to have a textured grain pattern, and I'd like to see if I can source a set here before buying the repros.

 

I noticed that too. Very unusual I wonder why they are textured like that.

 

I'll take a look at the ones I have.

 

Got a set. I'll get you pics tonight. In the box I have of them there are a couple that are textured. Probably a change at some point.

 

I believe 70 and 71 we're Smooth and 72 was Textured .

 

No - all of them were/are smooth. The reason the Parts Place pieces have that grain is probably just the nature of the material they use to mold them....sheets of ABS plastic and most of that stuff comes with a grained side and a smooth side.

 

I'm not convinced. I have a pair I took out of a parts car years ago that have the grain. I also have an NOS one that is grained. Perhaps Duane may know the answer.

We parted a car that had one textured and one smooth. I have examples of each.

I always thought these would be the perfect parts to repop with a 3-D printer.

 

I bought a pair of the repops from The Parts Place,for my red interior project. However,I have NOT installed them yet to see how they fit. Yes,they are grained.
