Won't be bothering you guys much next little while...chassis went to shop today, I was there and we set the body down on the mounts, hung the doors and trunklid real quick (still in primer ), rounded up parts and got most of the dust settled. Tommorow it comes home for test fit of various parts, interior work, etc. Probably won't be sprayed for another 6 months now, we'll see.i'm broke, basically. Couple teaser pictures. Pick it apart if you must. Tomorrow will update with pics and more info on the mounts. No time today to see how it all really fit underneath, but seemed excellent. later Tim
And on the truck.....it sure got some attention which really surprised me...one guy who was going to pass slowed right down and sat there beside it and stared while going the wrong way down the lane!! Pretty silly... later Tim
Wow, very nice....But Tim, you should really clean your garage!! How can you work in all that filth!! uzzled: Your garage looks like a Hospital!! :TU:
Looks great Tim, congrats!! Now that you're broke you'll have to drop by and take the Wagon for a run. (I wondwered where the loading zone sign on 10th st. went to...)
I'd like that Clint.....need a pick-me-up-cruise....kinda bummed that its not in paint yet...and can't even drive the stage 1 because its jammed in the corner and I need the rtagtop in the center so I can work on it.....and I was no where near 10th street!! Honest!! Oh yeah, and I'll clean the garage up!! How could I have left such a mess when taking pictures??! ou: later Tim
Tim: Perhaps if I sent you my chassis, you could repeat the process. Think of all that free time you will have otherwise! Idle hands................... :beer :Comp:
Well here are some pics of how the car looks now...all that chassis work and can't even see it anymore!!! ou: Pretty happy with the outcome so far, trunklid still has fit issues, I have not seen a decent car yet without lots of work there. Otherwise it certianly looks better than it did before, no clumps of crap falling on floor when you close a door or bump the car. They just HAD to use that blue guidecoat of course, its very close to the color I was debating painting the car..then I decided to stick with orange but now seeing the blue...........!!!LOL In case you are wondering, the doors were done last and the blue in the trunklid forward area is because the factory seems were re-leaded and they had to spray over that area again after the back end was done. Lots of little things to do like test fit window sweepers, wiring, test fit seats, build interior, etc...but for now this is as far as it goes. later Tim
Tim; Looks great; I am also jealous. I am still waiting to begin the frame resto. I have done the quarter panels, floor pans and trunk pan repairs (except the back seat pan repairs, need the frame out of the way to do it right). I just haven't had time to send it to the shop to take it off the frame. Thanks for the photos. Len
Len, whatever you do, make sure you do that car right...it deserves the best even if it takes 10 years. What a rare and cool machine.... later Tim
Tim; Thanks, I will try to keep my patients. It will probably take a little longer than I expected, if I only had more cash!!!!! I will probably ask you to e-mail me some photos of the chasis when I start putting it back together. Talk to you soon. Len
No worries, will help out any way I can....next six months or so will be doing nothing but dreaming anyway... later Tim
Thanks for the update, inspiration, ideas, motivation, etc. Tim---- Looks great. A six month cooling off period will surely have you rearing to go in the spring!!!!!! Oh and one more thing----- STICK WITH THE ORANGE PAINT!!!!!!! (and white interior)
I like to keep the color original too. But then again, I like the orange! Along with almost every factory color (never really cared for the Bamboo white though). :Brow:
