Now I know you can put a late model carb on my 1960 Buick with 401, but I still want to be able to start the car with the factory location (under gas pedal).

The kids love it when I say "I will start this car, but my hands will never touch the keys"

I am not real good with carbs so it might be a simple solution but I'd trust ya'lls advice more than my experimenting.

I'd love to buy a late model carb (so I don't have to locate the original rebuild kit :Dou: ) anyhow love to have a new carb, and switch the starter parts from the old one.

    Any ideas? :Do No:

If not who is THE MAN on rebuilding these? Mine falls on it face everytime I go over 1/4 throttle (then I have to rapidly feather the pedal to bring it back to power), and if I floor it the whole car just shakes as the "moan" from the carb quickly goes away and it almost cuts off.Starting in the morning? Forget it without priming it (accelerator pump)?. Really is frustrating.

    Thanks,

    Fritz
