I know the radio and the alarm added obviously are not original. I have checked out everything as far as the optional all vinyl interior package, rocker trim, emblems, engine, rear end gran sport package ect. Honestly the tach and vacuum gauge have me perplexed. I know the tach was a dealer installed option, but havent seen an option for the vacuum gauge anywhere. Also the mounting locations of them both just seem odd. I always thought that the tach was to be mounted on the top of the dash. Opinions and observations please. http://www.gatewayclassiccars.com/displaycar?stock=565&location=CHI Thanks Chris
Both gauges were added on after the fact. They are probably original GM items, but sourced from other cars and added on after the car was made.
x2! Trailer hitch probably added as well. Some things in the engine compartment are not correct, same with trunk.
Do you have a picture of the data plate for this car, to verify those options came with it from the factory?
The gauges looked to me like the dealer sold gm units but the placement and installation of them seemed suspect. I know the price is out there, not a big concern there right now as I have a good idea of the value. The trailer hitch is just dumb but is removable. From what I could see the trunk and under hood discrepancies look to be minor things as far as I can tell such as the black carpet and white cardboard in the trunk, and the added wiring and alarm under the hood. I don't have the body tag photo right now but am going to get it along with pics of any documentation. Will see if I can see the car in person in a frew weeks as I will be back in the Chicago area. Just wanted the knit picking to begin to give me information on things to look at and check if I go see the car. So please continue to scrutinize lol. Thanks for taking the time to look for me btw. Chris
Here is a real nice low mile one to look at, you can see quite a few differences in how things are painted (like power steering and pulley, all the red wires, ac component missing foam, engine color looks wrong, carpet color looks wrong etc. ) and the finish. I can't zoom the pics from the car lot, so hard to see a lot of detail. The red car sold for more than the green one you posted, I am only including the link as a reference as he has great pics. http://www.mcsmk8.com/65-RIV/65-RIV.html Here is a dirty, but original low mile car that can be used as a reference as well. Same color combo as the one for sale http://forums.aaca.org/f117/sale-1965-buick-riviera-gran-sport-350723-3.html
