Hey folks, it's tire time again and I'm wondering what you think about going with MT's v. BFG's. I go through 275/60's at the rate of every 3-4,000 miles- 2-3 trips to the track and the rest just playing around on the streets/hwys. Let my son drive the GS for the first time last Sunday and he finished them off. The grin on his face was absolutely worth it!! He caught it. The need for acceleration is now in his blood!

But to the point, I really would like to hear your experience with the MT's. I looked over a set at Discount Tire last week and the compound seems softer than BFG's. Do they hook better? Do you need to really heat them up like BFG's? How long to you think they will last? As long as BFG's? Thanks. :3gears:

Jack, what is the difference in price? If it is by a large margin, then you have to exercise the rule you get what you pay for.I like MT tires and I believe they are more race oriented than BFG tires. Don't get me wrong,BFG makes good tires, but I would lean towards the MT's.

I am in absolute LOVE with the M/T drag radials. I have gotten my best 60's with the M/T. Better than the BFG's and Slicks! These tires ROCK!! Of course I haven't drove my car on the street to tell you how they handle with everyday driving. Maybe someone else can let you know that side of it.

The compound is definately much softer so the wear life is going to be interesting. I got mine in the middle of this year, so I haven't had them long enough to compare life cycle times between the M/T's and the BFG's.

You don't have to do the big burnouts. One good one and then just little ones for the rest of the day. In fact, as soon as I get out to the track again, I'm going to try doing one burn out and then just cleaning em off a little the rest of the night to see how they hook without a real burnout. I'm thinking that they are still going to hook.

In my opinion, these M/T's are the greatest. I'm getting consistent 60' times which is something that I couldn't do with the BFG's. I believe that these tires are worth the price and the wait. I waited 4-6 weeks for my tires to come in but I believe that's changed as well.

    Buy the M/T's...you won't be disappointed :)
