I'm thinking of getting the TA SP2 high port for square bore carbs for my 430. What are ya'lls opinions? Eventually I plan on going to stage 2 TE aluminum heads but for now it'll be the stock 69 430 heads. I know headers, cam, and carb would be nice upgrades to go with it but I'll need an intake at some point anyway so I think now's a good time. Is there a better option as far as intakes go? I'm not conserned about mpg, just hp...

Hey, I like the remote oil filter setup on the Camaro. Can you tell us more about it?

Sure, it's a perma-cool kit. Here's a link to it where Jegs sells it: http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ProductDisplay?prrfnbr=1786&prmenbr=361
They also have the kit where you can have 2 oil filters if you want even more capacity...
It's real easy to install, you just have to make sure the right hose is on the right fitting. I had to use it on the camaro cuz the oil filter was hitting part of the steering linkage.

New version of that intake will be pretty radical, as I understand it..

But be advised, this intake is for the STG 2 TE/ STG 3 heads only.. it will not work on the SE STG 2 or STG 1 heads.

There will be STG 1 TE heads coming along here shortly, and that manifold will fit them also.

This new radical intake will only fit stg 2 TE/stg 3 heads or the SP2 high port will only fit the stg2 TE heads? So will the SP2 fit stock iron heads? What makes it not if it doesn't? Is it port size or mounting?

All the SP2's have raised intake ports... that's the main difference from an Sp-1.

No, it will not fit iron heads.

What would be the trade offs btwn the SP2 and SP1 as far as performance? Maybe I'll get the SP1 now so I can use it before I save up for heads. Am I shooting myself in the foot by not waiting?

Ok, I called them and got the whole scoop. I don't know. I have the opurtunity of getting an intake as a gift and can't decide on getting the SP1 and being able to use it now or getting the SP2 and then have to get $1395 Stg2 TE head castings that it'll work with...it just bothers me that the heads are only $100 difference btwn the SE and the TE. But TA said I'd be looking at a 10-15 hp difference...I don't know if that's worth messing with.

Or should I just wait on the intake all together in hopes that the rumors of them producing an intake that's better than the SP1 are true and get that one?
