Did I install the belts in the center on the wrong side?? Assembly manual would seem to suggest so but my Stage 1 (71) has never had belts removed as far as I know and that is how they are arranged (although they are standard belts so different again).

Maybe its time to take a break... :)

Buckles always go in the center just like the front seat.

You missed the point. See the two buckles on the drivers side? And the one buckle/one tongue on the pass side? Is that correct or vice versa?

    Thanks

My 72 hard top had them reversed from yours. Don't know what that's worth to ya, but there ya go.

    EDIT:

My car must've been wrong.... I found two Skylark/GS's on ebay (many more, but most don't show rear seat :Dou: ) that are set up the same as yours. I'd say keep it as is.

If it's buggin you too much, and you're loosing sleep due to the stress, you can allways send it to me. I'd be happy to unload all that pain and suffering off of your hands :Brow:

Looking good though, came a long way from what it was. I'm suprised you can sleep at all being that close.

Ah Jeff, you're gonna laugh.....mine was backwards I think. Yours is correct. Both 71 and 72 assembly manuals show it opposite of my pic, plus several cars I found online had them opposite of my pic.I even went so far as to pop the rear seat on my stage 1 and it looks like the bolts may have been played with at one time, but who knows (scratches on plating around edges).

I changed them to both female on the passenger side. Don't trust e-bay!!LOL

One thing that really surprised me in my search is that most cars don't have belts?? Never see them anyway so maybe they are under the seat?

And yeah, its come a long, long way. You guys only saw the good before pics, not the bad ones so you can't imagine how happy I am to actually just in the thing and look out over that hood....

I think however that I am just plain burned out on this thing. Its almost there but I am surprisingly not that excited :Do No:

You mean that's not the Fire damaged hulk you posted a pic of long ago?? If not then I'm sorry, I got mixed up...lol. If it is, then I can't even imagine what a bad before pic looked like :eek2:

Go figure on the belts...LOL. That's probably the only part on my GS that the PO didn't F up trying to fix something, considering that he had to remove them in order to bondo the metal under them (I was able to rip them out by hand when I parted it out) :af:

Glad to see it comming through, It looks great :TU: :bglasses:

    You probably can't!!!

If you can pull out the seatbelts by hand, thats not a good sign!!!

More updates tonight, hood latch, grille is on. Almost ready to go...
