I thought I'd toot my own horn.

Not really Kenne-Bell cars but my '65 GS and '78 Regal, both 455 powered, made it into the 1985-1986 catalog and Kenne-Bell "Buick News", the '78 in Feb. 1984 and the '65 in April 1986. No slight intended but if you got the "Buick News" you'll know what I mean when I say Jim set the standard for being late with newsletters.
All pictures were taken by Jim at the GS Nats in May.
The Regal in 1984 right after I dropped the 455 into it and it still had single exhaust and the whitewall 14" wheels so I could get it done in time.
The '65 was taken in 1986 soon after I had it painted. Never looked better and it has been all downhill since. The 11.70's were without nitrous. I used the nitrous with the TQ at the track but never with the 2X4 setup. I only used the tow tabs once while I had them on but they were there for emergencies and I always dragged the tow bar with me just in case.

Dave, here's a picture of the KB 350 valve covers from the August 1990 newsletter when they were just released. Maybe this is what you're looking for. I didn't see any before that.

How weird, the name on that car in post #24 and #25 matches the name on my beer mug.

Pictures 1 & 2 of the "KENNE BELL EQUIPPED CARS" are of the 1977 undefeated T/Stock NHRA National Record Holder. This car was featured in the February 1979 issue of Popular Hot Rodding with picture #1 in full color. Mike Doyle raced the car in the late 70's. The car was painted white in the early 80's for Jenna Bell and remained that color until I purchased the car in March 06.

Over the past three years the car has been stripped, repainted, and decaled to its original 1977 glory days. The car was originally painted in 1977 by Molly Sanders. Molly helped with the current paint selections. Ken Betts, Doug Jones, Mike Doyle and Joe Cusak helped with the research of the car.

The car will be on display at the 2009 BPG Nationals and may even make a pass or two.

I am in need of some help with one last decal. I am looking for a good picture of any vehicle featuring the 1977 US Nationals "Participant" decal. This decal can be found on either picture posted as the red/white decal in front of the door mirrors.

Mike I remember that catalog, wanted to meet you then ,but I had a 72 lark and read the article on stage 1 cars in car review and had to find a gs350 or a stage1. I thought regals were too new. I could have bought a t-type in 86 for 14,500,never test drove it.I didn't believe the salesman the v-6 could beat my car:idea2:

Not to revive an old thread but was searching for stage2 information and just got a big surprise.

My father raced the 54 Century on the catalog page in the 1st post after getting out of the Army in 64.
He became friends with Pop Kennedy eventually getting sponsored by Kenne-Bell in the late 60s.

Always knew of this picture and that it was supposedly taken for the Kenne-Bell catalog. However, never seen the actual catalog page until now.

The post may be old, but thanks for posting!!

    Good Stuff

  8. Not to bring an old thread back or anything.. But I think some of you will get a kick out of, knowing these cars are still around..
The DeHabeys 67 Skylark, and The 68 GS400 Known as the Night Stalker.
Both cars are owned by my father and I. Dad bought the 67 in '86 as a senior project to work on. The Night Stalker was sold from the DeHabey family after Dan passed in 01 (I Think) and we didn't know where it went. Before Dan passed away, the 455 that was in the car along with the transmission and fuel system was pulled and most of it was sold. We luckily got ahold of Dan's Widow Karen ,and she still have most of the stuff that was ever taken off it. Trying to hook up with her to get parts and put it back on the track again soon. Now both cars are going to be my senior year projects.

Thought you older guys would be glad to see them after so many years.

Bringing up Old racecar information. Anyone have any info on George Hall's 72 (?) Sportwagon or his 74 Gran Sport race cars. or any of his previous cars. I know he raced Hemi Roadrunners in 68-69 but went back to Buicks because they didn't hold up ( His words)
