Has anyone heard of a "carfax" type site that supports old car VIN #s?? None of the pedestrian ones I've found will accept the pre- 80 or so #'s----- Curious as to what might come up on my droptop, as I've only owned it a year......
Dan, Just post your VIN at this board, before 1972 there's not much info in the VIN just the model and factory where the car was made plus the productionnumber. From 1972 up there's also engine-info in the VIN. But you can always check your body plate for a little bit more information.
Nice Riv, Erik...... Actually, I know what all the codes in the vin mean and that stuff, but I'm just wondering if a Vin search like you can do for newer cars would give me a clue to this cars' past (owners, locations, repairs, etc) I know many DMV's no longer give out much info...... The guy I bought it from locally E-bayed it away from California, thats all I know.......... o No:
