Always seems to make me sad to see not just old Buicks, but any classic car no longer in service, and I often wonder of their history and story of the life they had...
- A little bit of touch up paint and a couple of spark plugs and they'll be as good as new! There are more Buicks in one of those pictures than I've seen together for a long, long time.
Thanks for sharing these images. They really capture so much wonder as to what they've seen and been through. If there are no objections, I'd love to use them to add to them to the video...
Wow Hugger, I hope that GSX will be your's soon! We know you will do something with it. Timing is everything, as we all know... Good luck.
It's a shame how some people will let vehicles rust into the ground before they'd let them go to someone who will rescue them.
Its a funny thing, these old cars.. Who's hands have touched those steering wheels, what memories were made in those seats, and how every family has a story of these vehicles in their daily life from days past. If only the cars could talk.. it does pain me to see them sitting in a field. Or maybe I'm just a sucker for history and enjoy being a fly on the wall listening to the tales.
Ummmmm like Ethan? Thinking that one is worth going to jail over That is now one of my favorite pictures! Thanks for sharing it!
I would think the same thing walking thru Aetna Auto Wrecking waaaaay back when looking for good junk on a sunny Saturday, the smell of oil and grease soaked dirt in the hot sun, taking parts off of cars, imagining the history, the people that have rode in it. There was an early '60s Electra in the yard at one time, light blue 4 door, pretty decent shape, I pulled the trunk release from the glove box, the trunk popped open!! I believe it was vacuum operated, maybe cable, but it worked
I chased a 70 yellow 4 speed GSX with 36,000 miles for 20 years! When I finally succeeded in purchasing it, I realized that it was more than I could do at the time. But, as a result of "rescuing" it from those who were determined to let it rot, TDActon was able to realize his dream of owning one of the most original, low mile, 4 speed GSXs on record!
The music (song: Reflections of my life) for the video is a more recent studio recording performed by Dean Ford, the former & original lead singer of the '60's/'70's bad The Marmalade. The later reunited, but without Dean Ford.
