Greg Schmelzer What are you looking at?!

Here is what I have left of an '87 Sub. A bunch of my friends said that I wouldn't be able to follow their Jeeps on the tight trails. Boy, oh boy, did I show them.

    Here is the good side.

This is why it won Ugly Truck contest 2 years in a row. I stopped entering it to let someone else have a chance

Is that your 69 LeSabre in the background ? How's the rims or is it your driver ?

  8. You've got more left of yours than I had of my 79 Sub! Mine was the victim of 21 years of my dad driving our family from Cleveland to western New York to go skiing every weekend on heavily salted roads. I spent 5 years redoing and adding bondo every summer to fix the newfound cancer. I finally sold it when gas got up to $1.75 3 years ago. I was very attached to that thing, I regretted selling it from the moment the (very proud) new owner left my driveway.

It's still on the road though, 2 owners later I saw it on the highway on my way home from work. All my bumper stickers were still covering the rear windows!

I'll have to post some of my 89 Jimmy, dont know if its as bad but we kicked it in everywhere we could and just beat on it rapidly. Actually had the cops called once on us cause somebody thought we were just kicking some ones truck.

    Ok Greg,
I'm calling you out on this one...
How did you keep up with the Jeeps, with a flat tire :puzzled:

Nice truck though, it looks rustic, in a rugged sort of a way. :Brow:

Need my brother to get a pic of my 81 F-250 woods hoopie. Its waaay ugly and waaay cool all at once. It has a 5" stack and a disco light. Its rattle can black with most body panels characterized. Best wheeling incident was when my cousin was driving it and we sideswiped a stump. Lots of pounding with a sledge got the door jam straight enough to close to door. It has 285,000 miles and all it needs are brakes to be inspectable.

    Close...

    Good eye!!

Close on both counts, Jarrod. That is my brother Eric's 69 Wildcat. Here is a pic of one of the rims. They are all in this same general condition. It is not a driver at all. The carb was removed several years ago after the motor spun bearings. We are trying to part it right now, but it is stored about 300 miles from here, so we get there at most every other weekend. There are a lot of good parts like trim etc, but the body is rusted badly.

    Me or the truck?

I hope you were talking about the truck being rustic and rugged. :moonu:

I actually kept up with the Jeeps with 1/2 ton axles for a little bit, but then I blew them up. Badly. So I installed 3/4 ton axles. Only to blow them to bits too. Put the front axle carrier and ring gear in a Hardies cup. That's when I said screw it and put in 1 ton axles. Corporate 14 bolt 10.5 ring gear in the back with a Detroit locker and 4.56 gears, Dana 60 front, 9.5 ring gear with a factory posi. It has been known on occasion to light up all four!!! :jd: got this alot that day!! :TU:

Thanks for getting the picture but i was hoping that they were original 69' rims with the offset by the lugs. So i'll pass.
