I always thought that was a neat looking effect. I don't have the pictures here, but did the same thing to the Ford GT40 along with another effect that was something like "metalizing" I think. I did it for a project I was working on for my vehicle dynamics class, I'll have to dig up the picture and post it up (even though it's not a Buick)
