Seems that when I lowered the rear driver window it "fell" down on a steep angle and took me a while to massage it into it's proper position and push it rearward so the door window would line up. Any have a clue? Did a roller break or something???:Do No:

OK, thanks! What's the procedure? And while I'm in there, anything else to clean/lube/check?

I haven't done anything with the rear windows in years. Last time I did I just reviewed my Fisher Body manual and dug in.

Yep a broken roller and it could be also a broken window guide.
First one is an easy fix, second one you will have to take out and change the complete assembly, for those guides (square plastics) are riveted.
If one of those are broken it is better to find yourself another complete assembly.
Will dig up some photos later

Would the mechanisms in question be the same for electric and crank window cars? I have the same problem in my 71 Riv, and it has cranks.

I'm not familiar with crank windows, but I suppose the guiding is the same.
There are 2 types of roller for the 1/4 window:

    2 on the lower window:

and one on the lifting arm:
This one was riveted (factory?), but the one I mounted back (eBay) had a thread (had to drill a slightly larger diameter in the lift arm to make it fit and had to cut a small piece of the thread due to length.
Here you can see the arm with missing roller and the rivet still in place

    The guides:
black arrows showing the guides (left one is clearly broken), red arrows are where the lower window rollers should be attached

I had one of the guides broken and the lift arm roller missing. (probably the missing roller caused one of the guides to break when operating the rear 1/4 window.
To get it done I had to take the lower side panel and the rear seat out...:Dou:

Thanks Rob. That makes more sense than the manual. I'm gonna have to wait til I have time.

That happens on my 225 every now and then. The ball pops out of the roller. I just pop it back in and its fine for another year or two usually. To get to it, you have to at least take off the bottom rear seat. You don't have to take the back off, but it does make it easier in the end. Once the seats are off, a few screws to remove the plastic arm rest interior siding and you have your access to the window internals.

I'm assuming you are talking about the '71.

Well it finally got above freezing here in the south for a few hours.:) Told you guys I can screw something that was supposed to be easy::Dou:

Ok, don't know how it happened, but the center round riveted roller cam e out of the center guide in the Riv. Removed lower stop and some upper moldings. window came out but was a witch going in. I figured the guide assm (?) had to come out. Got it out slid glass back in no prob. While positing the whole thing to accept the roller in the horizontal channel, the glass would come out of the front guide.

Went back and forth so much, it weakened and broke one "ear" of the plastic guide. Tightened the bolts holding the assm. to body so I could get to the bottom stop.
Don't know how that's gonna happen though, I'm now triple jointed from my elbow to wrist. BUT it is in and up in proper alignment with the front door instead of a huge gap and so forward that the front door would not close.
    So that's progress I guess???????

I can's see how that center button came out of it's slot. Doesn't seem possible..:Do No:

I probably should have put in the new belt molding and rubber while I was at it. But my back said "maybe another time":(

Thanks for the response guys. Let me know where I screwed up. Did this looking at the manual too. I swear I used to be smarter-I think??:Dou:

If you have small hands and a lot of patience yo can get it done with the seat in.

My guides are really worn, So worn that the window will pop out on occasion and I have to tear the whole thing down again to put it right. And they don't make replacements.
As far as window alignment goes, I've found that after the guides and rollers wear on both the front and back windows is hard to get perfect. Interior parts will actually alter how the window sits, so that you can have it good, put the interior back together and it's all screwed up again.

Despite my best efforts mine hasn't been right since I painted it three years ago, either side will leak in the rain.
