Oil Pump

    I have new oil pump to install the kit comes with a metal plate spacer my old one does'nt have one . Do I need this?

    Yes, that is the "new" surface for your pump gears to run against....since the old face is probably grooved pretty badly from years of use.

    Make sure you do not have a High Volume/High Pressure pump kit. If so the spacer plate is necessary for the longer gears. You do not need such a pump on the 350. Blue printing the clearances in the pump is very important. Do a search on "oil pump clearances", this has been discussed many times.
