what should the clearance be between the oil pump gears and the oil filter housing for the best pressure at idle. also how many threads should be showing on the oil pressure regulator during the initial start up. i dont want to mess anything up before i even get it on the road.thanks

.002-.003, .002 preferred. No such thing as how many threads should be showing. Adjust it for the hot pressure you need. If you are breaking in a new motor, you'll only be at 2500 RPM. All you need is 40 psi for that. Don't worry about the adjustment until later. Just monitor everything, oil pressure and coolant temperature. Get a bunch of friends over. More eyes to spot trouble like leaks. Get a big fan to blow air into the radiator.
