The manual gives a .002-.006 end clearence I assume the gasket makes up that difference. What is the thickness of the gasket? I changed my gaskets last night and it seems that that things got real tight. Need to do some checking.
    Thanks Rick

Rick the gears stick out past the gasket surface between .002-.006. The preferred end clearance from the gear faces to the pump cover is .002. So if your gears stick out .004, you use a gasket with a compressed thickness of .006, and you end up with .002. TA Performance sells an oil pump gasket assortment meant for this very purpose(TA 1704)
