has anyone ever had an oil sensor pressure switch "blow out" on them? Is this common?

I go fill up my car check the oil and add trany fluid. I get back in and start it and the oil light is staying on. but my pressure gauge is reading 23 psi at low idle. I hit the gas and the gauge increases but the light stays on. I get home (about 5 blocks) and pop the hood and about 1/4 cup or so of oil got splashed around near the sending unit (like on the crossmember, and front suspension arm). (I have a 2" extention then a tee so i can run both the gauge and sending unit. )

I should just use the gauge but it's nice to have the idiot light to make me check the oil gauge if it were to go on.

    Nate,
Yes, they occasionally pop a leak. Happened to me once. Just replace it.
