I have a dual quad 425 that when 1st started operates with 100+ psi at the pump. When warmed it idles around 50 psi with 10 W 30. This wouldn't concern excpet that one time when I started the vehicle the oil filter blew open. The can was completely bloated. Thats when I put the gage on it to see what the pressure actually was. I think that when it blew the filter open it had kicked back through the carb. I'm thinking that since the car has sat for many years, that the pressure regulator in the pump may be stuck. Anyone else had that probelm?
something is definatly wrong,there is no way ur suppost to have that much oil pressure,i have about 45lbs. in my nailhead,do not run it before something else happens,i`d take a look at the oil pump when u get a chance. Thanks
