Heres a little something off the internet I thought would be of interest to us guys/gals that don,t mind if we spend some big bucks on our dinosaur guzzling cars.
Every time you fill up the car, you can avoid putting more money into the coffers of Saudi Arabia. Just buy from gas companies that don't import their oil from the Saudis. Nothing is more frustrating than the feeling that every time I fill-up the tank, I am sending my money to people who are trying to kill me, my family, and my friends. I thought it might be interesting for you to know which oil companies are the best to buy gas from.
Major companies that import Middle Eastern oil (for the period
    9/1/00 -8/31/01).

    > Shell................ 205,742,000 barrels
    > Chevron/Texaco....... 144,332,000 barrels
    > Exxon /Mobil......... 130,082,000 barrels
    > Marathon............. 117,740,000 barrels
    > Amoco................ 62,231,000 barrels
    >
    > If you do the math at $30/barrel, these imports amount to over $18
    > BILLION!

Only problem I see with this list is that all the companies on the non-importing list that are around here put Ethanol in their fuel, which I avoid putting in my old car. I've always heard that Ethanol was bad for old cars, specifically carbureted ones. Is there any truth to this? We have a Sunoco here that sells 94 octane but I quit using it once I noticed the 10% Ethanol sticker.

Greg Schmelzer What are you looking at?!

    Ethanol effects

The biggest problem with ethanol that I have heard is that it tends to dry out rubber orings and gaskets. I have not had any problems with it, but have heard war stories. Just something to think about. Also, consider yourself lucky that you have 94 available. I can't find anything over 91 here in Omaha, and it's $1.72 a gallon. :Dou: And the worst thing is, the damn dodge still pings a little.:(
