hey every body good morning!!here is my weirdo. i have a 63 rivi that is way nice and i am very anal on how much modification i do to her electically. so my wiring is stock and not hacked up i did however add some nice sized body to motor grounds the stock ones were long gone and i had a professinal intalled raidio(ive taken it back to him and he totally went through all the stereo stuff one by one with me present) any way when useing the fluke meter hooked between the +teminal on the amp setting i have a 27 amp draw but wait it gets better. i have removed all fuses and even went so far as to disconect starter and all under hood wiring you name it its been unplugged. if all i do is hook up the battery with all components hooked up guess what i hear?? a knock noise on the passengers side fenderwell. like a relay cliking on now i must tell you i have removed the acsses pannel for the antena mine is manual and was fulliy expecting to see a relay or somthing i found nothing do any of you have a thought? ps it had this problem all along i have been restoring the car for 3+years and almost all partrs are new on the car this just blows my mind!!!!many thanks!!!o No: o No:
A 27 amp draw is pretty good sized for a Fluke to handle. Could it be a 2.7 amp draw? Or a 27mA draw. Either way, it appears that this is the source for the dead battery. You may need a manual of some sort, but let's cover the reading before continuing. How fast does it kill the battery? 27 amps should produce some smoke. Ray
how about a stuck electric window relay on the right side down by the kick panel. i just finished a restore on a 63 as well and that is where one of the relays where on this car? just a thought Greg
wiring nightmare!! i got a factory man for the wireing and im really stoked im going through stuff thats 40 yrs old and its way cool about twoo weeks and i might get it!!!thank you for all you positive imput iwii keep you posted
