just wondering if anyone has any experience with these offset control shafts? I have a 72 gs 350 convertible with stock suspension. my shafts have 4 shims on each bolt on each side, the shims equal about a quarter inch. Should i get the offset shafts or stick with the originals? also what should i use for front springs to achieve the stock stance? can i powdercoat the "raw" springs you can get from local shops?

What do your upper control arm bushings look like? Are they completely wiped? I saw the offset shafts when I bought mine, but I only had three shims in the worst spot. So I went back with the original style. I haven't had it aligned yet but it looks good so far. If your bushings aren't too bad and you still need that many shims then I'd get the offset. I would see why you can't have springs powder coated. The Moroso's that I just installed are power coated.

    Dont know about the offset...

but my Hotchkis springs are Powdercoated, so I would think that getting "Raw" springs powder coated wouldnt be any issue.

Moog part number K5250. I put them on my 70 GS and I put them on the way it indicated. When my front end was aligned ( to the "Larry" specs) I ended up with so many shims the nut is at the end of the bolt! I'd take 'em off and reverse them but its such a pain in the neck. The mechanic, who is highly recommended, said it was OK, but it looks like heck. I'm not convinced on the OK part either. Oh well, something to fix later.

The offsets were designed to compensate for frame sag. If you don't have it, it could throw you in the other direction. Did you get it aligned recently? They shoulh have checked the bushings etc. A 1/4" of shims doesn't sound like much to me. Or are you saying they are 1/4" each??? or one inch total??? 1 inch is about what I have. If the shafts are OK otherwise I'd leave them in.
