So funny not funny. What work on your car? Can you imagine? The warnings these days are incredible.

"Kinda" getting ready for this years car work, but first comes the MANLY work... So The kid (O.J.) and I are re-laying a paver sidewalk that was just done in a hurry a few years ago to get from the house to the shop and stay outa the mud, plus a 16 inch tall brick retaining wall around 2 big pine trees with a hosta bed.

Grade was wrong and it had poor drainage. So up she comes. First thing we did was a French drain to a stone lined pit, compacted it and then laid out points (in Buick Red no less) for the screed points with a new laser level that I traded an old beater spare window shaker for. It was 100F outside and this guy needed AC more than a laser level. Its a chinalevel but did what we needed.

So after the kids goes home at 8 pm he calls me back and says he'll be right over... something we need to go see. H...

About 6 blocks away is a dumpster in the front drive where some guy croaked. A real old time that was a woodworker and into civil war re-enactments. The property owner were emptying the place out with a 4x8 plywood sign that read "FREE"... Holy Crap.

So that night with me in sweat pants and 1/2 sedated (!) we load the truck up with a bunch of table saws, scroll saws, belt and disc sanders etc. All stationary industrial stuff (mostly DUNLAP) cast iron stuff, (as in like 100 LBS ++ stuff) PLUS a 1/2 dozen 3/4 horse electric motors...

Yesterday morning we go back to see what we missed and the owners were there. They said they needed the outside stuff to go first and theres more outside in the back. We hit the mother load in a pair of DECREPIT trailers. Tons of cast iron civil war era camping cook pots (Dutch ovens) 2-3 old barn beam mounted hand cranked drill presses, one being converted to run on a hit and miss motor, and 2-3 cast iron cook stoves (wood fired) and several "kits" for making heaters out of two horizontal 55 gallon drums. Then there was about 50+ white (yellowed with age) old porcelainized steel "gas station" letters in the 4-6 and 10" variety covering up a dozen Model T Ford Plug/lug wrenches. A few iron wheels PLUS a brand new folding canopy tent for car shows etc.

It just kept coming! So we had to take a break since we had an 0800 appointment to haul the boat out. One last spin on the lake, turn around and head for the lift

Another 2-3 boxes full of all new brake pads, tune up stuff, and (got tossed!!) Fram oil filters; but still. Caps, rotors, plugs.. you name it. Gotta get back on that sidewalk today. ws

You're competing with Jason for luck! At least it went to someone who appreciates it. I'm sure the PO would be pleased.

Ok... so you have me by the head bolts Jim (you two figure it out). " I come to you tonight with a heavy heart..." Please accept my most humble apologies for just wanting to speak my turn. I know the minions have turned down my speed so it really sucks to get on here, but just about any thread that Ive ever been a part of has my status reduced to "not having enough privileged Leads to reply here..." So I cant get an word in edgewise.

Since I haven't been banned from my own thred yet, Id figure I'd try it here. I thought maybe while the BOSS was laid up he may have had the time to read some PMs. I guess I wasn't part of his "club" to be read so it was trashed. Sorry for that JW, but laying in a bed for few weeks with TV and the forums to keep you entertained can get stale. Im truly sorry for your misfortune and hope you get up and attem soon!

I won't go into a hundred other questions; Ill merely draw my own conclusions. Me being me, (Hi Bill, hope your getting along OK and coping with your recent tragic loss) to know me is just that. If you understand me thats a plus. Just had six teeth pulled a week ago and shouldve stuck my hands in the fan to give me a counter irritant for pain.

I promise to be a good boy now and only post info where you could strike a match om my tongue for a light. I wish you all a happy upcoming holiday season, if thats ok to say here, and pray that 2021 will be way better than last year.

If this apology meets your standards, I promise no more racial overtones with underlying sexual innuendo.

Yeah... thanks guys; It was fun bantering on the tally-whackers, and now I guess I have to man down and be one myself tp participate here. Now if some one would please call up the NKVD in the cone of silence and have them restore some bandwidth I'd appreciate it. I was lucky to get on here after an hour wait, but hey, its a Buick world and the sun still shines and life is just hunky dory... Now back to la-la land for THIS tally whacker. ws

The long winters shadows will grow shorter hate mongering and fear be all part of the past. Hark! Just ahead! Can that be a yearling with her first born grazing in the cool creekside grass ready to begin a new life?

Just wondering if the V8 forum is going through growing pains or the gerbils are on strike; it seem inordinately slow. Some times it can take 5 minutes to load the home page, Then another 5 to load "the bench", and Oh Lawdy, click on a thred and get the WPoD (White Page of Death) and hafta start all over.

A few days ago I posted what I felt was an acceptable behavioral issue apology and garnered a few "likes", but no actual responses. Last nigh BUCY and JW were sent PM's about this. Ive done the crime and did the time. Am I still doing penance for this?

Even this little blurb has taken 20 minutes to compile. I know the Geheim Polizei will never admit to anything, but can some one else on the "secret list" confirm for me? All the other websites I read aren't having any issues. If I need to go just let me know. Buick Novenas are getting pretty hard to say and the rosary is getting close to the fan several times now. ADVICE??? ws

Well after 7 years, I cant seem to get enough advance outa the old Model T timer. The exhaust manifold is running red and burning the wood floor boards. So do the exspurts here recommend bending the timing rod or replacing the roller. Maybe a quart of kero in the tank as a cooler mix? I need help. I talk nicey-nice and the carb still spits and then ices up. Opening the mixture valve hasnt helped. Leaner is worse. Retarded, yet the hand twister still wants to back slap me. Would you recommend jacking up the right rear tire and cranking it in high gear? John?? Whadda ya do??? Maybe one of the wizards can step up with some advice. If it were high altitude icing Id know what to do, but at 600+ sea level Im lost. Maybe the 600W rear end oil is too thick. Advice? Comments?? Ill betcha Frank knows LOL...! ws

You know that I have zero pull and have rubbed the fur backwards myself to a few around here. I hope we all realize that we need different facets to grow. Hope you throw these long posts out for many years.
