April update : Well ....after sand blocking 3 times ...took the car all apart again and has been sitting for months and just waiting for seal coat and paint ..yes painting it all apart new dilemma is what color to paint it ....April will be get in the mood month and a decision on color and will be in the garage by May o No: also my % done increases down in my signature
Just painted underside of hood ...Eastwood 2K Ceramic satin Black reduced 15%-20% with 1.3 tip....2 coats and it looks good ... also used their trunk spatter with the clear ...impressed with that out of the can pic is just the 1st coat ....
made a stand from the scrap box for the rear wing .....getting ready for paint then I decide to add some more small items .... looks like a Buick Christmas tree
Ha, ha, ha...... They are never finished! It will never end. Grab some reality and just accept it. Mikey
The Eastwood spatter I like easy to use and sprays very nice I used 3 cans of spatter and 2 of clear ......my spatter just took a long time to dry bcs I didn't wait for the first coat to dry properly ....I'm one of those anxious type and dont touch it like anxious people do  I suggest shaking the cans extra good and light even coats and give it some time to dry/flash (its water based ) in between coats next day clear it ....2 cans of clear are plentiful and go a long way ....use the satan clear you dont want shiny shiny cheap phone camera ...looks much better than picture
fall update : Almost pulled the trigger last week on ordering the paint but the cold is setting in and slightly out of mood for painting so we will wait till 2016 when the first 60-70 degree days set in and should be in the mood ...and hopefully paint prices drop as of now the car is all apart and taped up and in hibernation mode the color I have decide on is High Octane Red Pearl Chrysler/Dodge
My first thought is the taped up and ready to paint is tapped up for long time leads to looseness that will allow dirt in and that alone will cause all kinds of problems. I would take off all the tape and/or paper now and wipe down everything and retape when you are ready. Love the color
ou: 3 stage ? I thought the pearl was in the base ....I better check into that I thought it was bc/cc set up
The red is the base the pearl is mid coat, painting a 3 stage apart is tricky even for experienced painters! They might have a two stage formula but it usually doesn't look the same.
I smell paint in the air soon ...... Chris I doubled checked ....the PPG guys in portage park told me the pearl is in the base so its 2 stage BC/CC but that gallon is about $1100 ou: then we have this popular guy on ebay supposedly selling same stuff for a bit over $500 not sure to trust that or not bcs that's a huge price swing o No: http://www.ebay.com/itm/PPG-Deltron...4101988&pid=100011&rk=1&rkt=1&sd=380832363269
