looking for input on where I can send my Carver TFM-35 stereo amplifier for qualification/repair. Thanks in advance for any help on this.
I would call Hawthorne Stereo in Seattle. Address: 6303 Roosevelt Way NE, Seattle, WA 98115 Phone: (206) 522-9609 Ask them about who repairs Carver. They are a long time dedicated business who only deals in old school stereo and turntables. They may repair it, or they may refer you, but I would chat with them first. There is also this place: https://carveraudiorepair.com/ which claims to be the only "authorized" Carver service center Also in Washington state. These bad boys are heavy too, as you know...
Yes indeed...like picking up a FE intake manifold. Thank you!!! I have owned this for 29/30? years and it has been with me through through 6 states.CA/CO/NY/ME/VT and PA. Served me very, very well paired with a Carver c-1 Preamp, Teac reel 2 reel, Denon CD player and an old Technics turntable.
I got nothing bad to say about Hawthorn..... Now C A R is a freaking scum bag outfit.... Yes Bob is a thief. I brought in a 500-B for some work..... All the bald headed cock-roach did was some what clean my dial lens glass and steal all the telefunkin 12AX7 tubes and replaced them with crappy china tubes,,,, and me charged me $350 get my unfixed unit back. when asked about my tellies,,,, Oh we threw them away...
