Not charging.

This question is on a 84 Olds Cutlass (I ask here because 1 it has a 350 Buick swapped in, and 2 it's almost identical to a Regal as far as mechanics and wiring.)

My car is not charging at all, I know the battery is good, just bought it and tested it.

I took the alternator to Autozone to be tested, they said it tested out to OE specs for a 63 Amp alternator.

Yet it makes no power of it's own when the car is running.

I checked all my wiring, the ground looks good, I spliced a second ground into the connector, made sure everything was clean, everything appears to be wired in correctly.

Only differance from when the V6 was in is that I have to use a 63 amp alternator out of a 82 El Camino instead of the I think 83 amp that was originally in the car, oh and there is no heater or A/C system what so ever.

Any help would be extremely appreciated!

    Thanks

    Jason

Do you have an internal voltage regulator on your alternator? Or an external one mounted somewhere in the engine compartment?

    It's the internal regulator.
