The air cleaner means that it is a 400 with a 2 bbl, California emission car. rare car. Just ran into one the other day in a hardtop.

No. It's Oldsmobile's Climatic Combustion Control air intake system for cold climate cars . It was an option on all Oldsmobiles . It quickly heated incoming air to the carburetor. This Vista Cruiser looks to have the 330 V8. The 400 2bbl was the Turnpike Cruiser option and would have been painted bronze.

I stand corrected, the one I saw was a Turnpike Cruise car. I thought the man said that air cleaner was only on that option. His was a California car and he had the air pump and all the other smog equip. Please excuse my stupidity.
