This find was almost like the preverbial car in the barn under a tarp deal - I have been looking for just the right Baby Grand for some time now - This beauty showed up in my local paper for $500 - I called the owner on it and she said it was a mess and would need totally restored - knowing the Kurtzmann name and knowing it was a high end piano from the Golden Age I thought it smart to at least go look at it - Well I get there and under 6 inches of dust and stuff was this beauty(well not so beautiful there) I told her I was interested what was the best she would do on it, she said she wanted it out so $350- it didn't look like this until I spent all Friday eve and Saturday on it cleaning and polishing and tuning- it cleaned up to be absolutely MINT not a blemish on it!!! It is a 1935 Kurtzmann 5' 2" Baby Grand - Value $7500

    great

I went over all the mechanicals and all were in perfect shape even the 70 year old hammers - I tuned it and it plays like it was just made yesterday - this is truly a timewarp grand. I will tune it again after it sits a month.

Congrats Keith. I'm guessing this is like finding the old gs in a barn of the piano world?
