I'd bet money that it is a V6. I don't think that the in-line sixes made the cut on the low hood lines with the rectangular headlights. And, yes, that's a nice looking machine.
In the last years I 've seen more '57 BelAirs than these 80ies Chevies. And actually there were quite a few around until like 10 yrs ago or so. Hope she finds a good home.
