Bought a NOS timing cover I thought was for a 350. Identical in almost every respect except one. The distributor hold -down is secured from slightly to the rear & the right. A 350 hold-down gets secured from the left. Rope seal installed in a copper housing. Casting number is 1249795.
I'm thinking early '70's V-6 but cannot verify.

    Thank You.

I do not see that number from 57-75 (Group 0.206) I could have missed it, there was a number revision, it is not Buick or it is for a post 75 Buick application.

    Hi Jim,
This number doesn't show in my '64-'76 book either. Even the bolt pattern to the block is the same. Water pump & oil pump are identical to a 350.
This possibly a Pontiac or Olds part??

This timing cover is for a V6 83 Buick Regal T-type.
I had the engine on my car rebuilt and the shop replaced the part with a universal unit (did not like it) but is up and running. Here is the photo.
Please let me know if you cannot use it so maybe I’ll buy it from you.

Juan, you are aware this thread is 14 years old right? I don’t even think Steve Craig is on here anymore?
