Not mine (unfortunately). https://www.ebay.com/itm/1258122506...=0&osub=-1~1&crd=20230310012957&segname=11021
Wow, Parts Place would be just fine for me if I needed them. Might as well put this 1972 N25 bumper along with Danos lead... https://www.ebay.com/itm/1550831531...EcNVg3TRSm&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Nice. I have a NOS set and I bet Fred W has two NOS sets. It felt crazy to pay $400 for the set I have at that time (about 15 years ago).
It gets to the point where the parts are worth too much to bolt onto a car. It'd have to be a Stage1 conv. or GSX it seems to even consider using them. If I had the right car & the $, I'd make an offer on 'em! I got to that point w/my NOM std. 455 GSX 20 years ago. The NOS stuff I'd collected for it was worth more than the car would've been finished. Fortunately the lady who had my '71 GS (orig. owner, special ordered) cared for the car and must've had an exhaust shop buy NOS tips when the exhaust was replaced & they lasted well until the car was retired as they're in excellent condition & I expect to use them on the car when restored.
I have a couple new sets of the stainless steel N-25 tips that Wheelz use to make and probably 3 or 4 N-25 bumpers. Of course I have a really rough old set of GM tips and a custom built 70 N-25 for my car (not plated and nice an ugly to match the car heh heh) Love that N-25 sound & boss look
Now resisted. Now starting bid is $649. Tempting... https://www.ebay.com/itm/125820916869?_trkparms=amclksrc=ITM&aid=777008&algo=PERSONAL.TOPIC&ao=1&asc=20220706173935&meid=8092e9c0ca29423ea6d781860492daa8&pid=101526&rk=1&rkt=1&mehot=none&itm=125820916869&pmt=0&noa=1&pg=2380057&algv=RecentlyViewedItemsV2Mobile&brand=Buick&_trksid=p2380057.c101526.m146925&_trkparms=pageci:37577380-c3ad-11ed-8934-623de090358c|parentrq:e88743971860aaf56b99854cfffe5130|iid:1
For the prices of these parts, somebody sleeps with their hands under the covers. Wow! Good way to ruin the hobby.
OEM parts are worth what the buyer is willing to pay, even more so when it comes to NOS parts. The seller’s starting price is more than fair, the potential buyers will determine its value. I know if I need a hard to find part for my build that surfaces I am willing to attempt to outbid everyone else no matter the cost. I would not consider this ruining the hobby as this same thing happened to me numerous times when I first started my resto in 1996 on this very forum. It didn’t ruin the hobby or drive to complete my restoration. It only had me working harder to acquire more money.
NOS or not, I don't like the tack welded reducer sleeve. I'd run parts place for $249. In fact, I cut mine off around that spot and welded on 2-1/2" sleeves.
