Something to think about.... the fenders that were coming out of the gm dies in the mid to late 80s required alot of body work to make them fit,the stamping dies ere worn out,the front edge of the fenders were to long and ther was a significant bow in the top
i heard it was the other way around that the top of the fender was flat because they didn't leave a space on the inside edge of the fender on good ones you can put your finger tips into the proper space one the ones that were incoorect they welded that seam to low on the top.
