Several months ago I found and purchased all of the 6X9 rear speakers a company had. I got 40 of them. They are the 10 ohm speakers that our old radios require. 4 ohm speakers will damage the radio outputs. These GM speakers are discontinued and are dated coded in 1997. I used to try to find old original speakers but when I had several of them fail from old age I figured I better find a better way. These are also the 20 oz. speakers, originals were 10 oz, so these will add a much better sound. I have right at $35 each invested by the time I paid shipping. I will sell them for $40 and send JW $5 for each one sold. US shipping should be around $9. So, for $49 you can get one of these sent to your door in the original AC Delco box and a $5 donation to the board will be sent to JW. This will total a $200 payment to V8 Buick to help keep this site up. You know this can't be a cheap date keeping this massive website up and running and I'd like to do all I can to make sure it stays around! Post here to keep a log on who is getting one of these speakers. PayPal to buick455@juno.com or PM me for my address.

PS If someone can tell me how to resize photos I can post some. Photos are too large.

Will these fit a 67 GS?

    Thanks

Yes, I am pretty sure the '67s used the 6X9s. I used to have a 67 GS400, one of my all-time favorites but its been 30 years and I can't remember ever looking at the speakers. Any 67 specialists out there? :3gears:

James -- I keep getting a message saying that this is not a valid E Mail address and it won't send.

    and another question,
Is this the speaker that goes in the center of the dash of a 72 GS convertible?

No. The front dash speaker like the one I sent to Kevin is 4X10. ( And, no, I am out of them now except for a couple spares! ) James aka 1972 Stage 1 will be posting pictures of these speakers here very soon as I E mailed them to him this afternoon.

Anyone have a convertible they can look at to see if the rears are 6X9s like the hardtops?

Yeah, convertibles have a 6x9 in the back just like a hardtop. Actually you can fit 2 back there, but I believe it only came with 1!!

    JKC,

Do you have any of the little clip-in studs to mount these speakers with? I guess screws with flat washers would work, but I'm afraid you may deduct points off my car to "give me something to work on"? :bla:

How many do you need? They are scarce but I might have several. Thanks for pointing it out. We'll have to add that to the judging sheet for next year. :bla: Maybe these will turn into the next "super rare hi dollar" item.

I will only need four if I buy one of your speakers. :TU:

Good idea! Since you will be entering a fresh car in the 2010 GS Nats show (or possibly the BPG show this year?) and won't be able to be a judge, I guess I will have to take your place. That will give us some time to add a few things to the scoring sheet, just for you!

It looks like this year it's the chrome Stage 1 FC65 oil cap. Take a look:
