Ouch! Glad I'm not in the market for one. I just finished repairing and painting mine. My spare is a little rough but it'll do in a pinch.

  2. Len, I agree, the $575 opening bid requirement takes some kahonas... I guess if that's what a guy wants, and doesn't want to pay to have a reserve price, well that's what we get. And it isn't even correct for a GS, as it needs a diff paint scheme, but he does state "Skylark" in the listing.

My spare grille is a correct GS version. I did one minor repair, all it needs is a possible paint job, and it will look good as new. I don't know when I'll use it, maybe after I have my front bumper straightened and rechromed. I currently have a 68 SW/Special grille on that looks very good too, though not quite correct.

How did the paint job turn out? Can you post any pics? Did you paint all of it, or just certain areas?

I'll post a pic tonight, not sure if I got the paint scheme right either, but it kinda works with the dark grey in my new wheels.

May not be correct but I like the way it looks.

    Beautiful

That's absolutely beautiful. How many cracks, breaks, etc. where in the grille when you started?

Had to graft two side mounting tabs and the large stud in the back.

Does anyone have an extra center top mounting stud for a '68 grill? I am in the process of restoring one and it is missing that stud..

  12. ...and I need a lower mounting stud for a 68 GS grille... :gt:

Check out the picture too. If it was any smaller it would look like a zit. :error:

"Looks" like it may be a nice grill, but I can't really see it.
