Hey Chris, try and list the group (GR.#) numbers too. That makes looking up the part numbers sooo much easier. :Smarty: :TU:

I had a short conversation with one of the owners and he mentioned how some parts numbers can supercede others etc. Then I may have to take pictures and hope we can recognize the part. I will know more tomorrow. :TU: Guy"s check out My post in the bench ( The Heart and Soul of a Lifelong Buick Man) I need a good set of 1970 GS headlight bezels ASAP for Jeff"s car. Funny you should say that, I just came across an old Smily (Smyly?) keychain this weekend when I was cleaning. I don't think that Smily has existed for many years, though, I looked for them a while back and couldn't find them.

BobC...keychain huh?? very cool, i have no idea how long or when the dealership closed but they put a sticker in the cupholder on the backside of the glovebox door to let ya know where it came from. what kind of shape is the keychain in?? interested in parting with it? :beer :bglasses: :Brow:

Sad news Guy"s :ball: :ball: :ball: Went to pick up the parts today. They were not anything like we had all hoped. Mostly 1980"s and any earlier parts were things like head gaskets, small nuts, brackets, fittings, washers, seals etc. When I saw the listing I had hoped for many 65 to 75 parts we could all use. Basically it is a batch of odd ball parts, with nothing rare or special other than the NOS boxes and rappers. The owners of the company that listed the auction are really nice guy"s but with very limited knowledge of buick parts. I looked through the entire lot, trying to find one or two items to justify the sale and came up empty. I explained that their auction was misleading as to the content included. I did not buy the parts and had a long talk with the owners. This is chalked up as a lesson learned for both the buyer and the seller. I am very happy with the way they handled the situation. They have a websight and sell many NOS parts. My suggestion to them was to be more informed on what they were selling or mix in a sport wheel, rallye rim or a grill with such an unknown lot.I am very happy I didnt pay $324 for a useless pile and even more happy with the owners positive attitude. The name of the company www.gyrhead.com is Gyrhead and Sons Restoration parts in Lawrence Mass. I highly recommend them as long as they know what they are selling you and you know what you are buying. They have three 1973 GS lower grills on the shelf for sale. Sorry Guy"s I tried, Chris :TU:

I gotta say, that is very honorable of them to allow you to back out. They definately did not have to do that. I drove through Lawerence today, maybe I would have stopped in... (were ya driving the GS???)

PM me your address, Rich- all yours. Like most stuff from back then it is high quality and will last for a long time, but definately shows it age. It is nothing fancy- just a round circle with the Smyly trademark smile, along with their address/phone number. If your car came from Smyly, then you should have this! It could probably be cleaned up a bit, but it still looks pretty sharp.

I was driving my dodge pickup Bob, My buicks hibernate in the winter. As far as backing out of the deal, I really dont look at it that way.I have perfect feedback on e-bay. I really felt I was representing every guy on this post that was hoping for a decent part from this deal. When I found nothing of any use to any of us, I then felt the auction was somewhat mis-represented when there was nothing of any value from 1965 to 1975. Sure I could have paid the money but that would have been the same has throwing it out the window on RT 495. Chris :beer
