A motor should have very little crankcase pressure at less than full throttle (especially a fresh one like this).....then at full throttle where there may be some, the PCV isn't doing anything since vacuum is zero.

For the idle air issue, run the PCV just don't plug it into the intake for the time being.

We pulled the PCV valve out of the intake, and blocked the intake hole, and in addition, we plugged the hole at the carb were the PCV hose normally connects to.

We can do this without effecting the idle quality, cause this engine uses a LPG (Liquefied petroleum gas) system as its primary fuel

Drained the oil, put fresh oil in the engine and let it sit overnight to check oil level.
Oil level was right up the FULL mark on the dipstick.
Drove 250-260 kilometers, mainly on the highway and 20 miles in the city.

Checked the oil, looked like it could us a half a quart or so.
Let the car sit overnight again, to let the oil settle down again to the oil pan, and checked the oil level the other day again.
The oil level was now 2 or 3 mm under the FULL level.
So it did not need any oil, oil level was ok.

It takes a long time for the oil to drain down to the engines oil pan.
So if you take a look at the oil level right after you have driven the car, it can give a misleading reading.

Engine is ok, so the pistonring/oilscraper theory is here not a factor.

Thats good news, and was what we expected.
This is a fine working engine. :beers2: :TU:

We took of the intake, cleaned everything and installed the oil splash shield, and intake back on the engine.
And installed the PCV back in the intake and hooked up the PCV hose to carb. Removed the 2 breathers in the valvecovers, and installed the closed orginal valvecover pieces.

Started the engine and let it warm up, took it for a spin and all sounds and works well.

Some more work to do, cause there is a small oil leak (drops of oil) in the rear of the driversside valvecover.

That's good to hear!:TU: Definately need that splash shield....if you run a PCV......

Tnx!:beers2: Yeah PCV is the best way to keep those engine fumes outside of the drivers compartment. :TU:

I will take some pictures of the car, were this brand new 71 455 resides in.

I have always rigged fresh air in and blowby out the Pcv.
Ventilation, to keep raw gas, condensation, sludge, etc out of the crankcase.
Two fresh air breathers should be a plus and do no harm.
Air must flow through (that's in and out) the block on any street driver.
