Yes - the shield is on the right side of both mirrors when viewed from the front of the car. I just double checked on my garage example.

Brad, run back out to the garage and tell us if yours has that square plug thing on the underside like the one in the auction.

I emailed the seller and asked if it was a big car mirror or a Skylark mirror. I also asked for the casting number on the base. No answer as of yet.

Copy that! Semi-square indent (perhaps a half inch) just left (from the front) of the post. I say semi-square because the indent is perhaps 3/16 deep toward the rear of the car, tapering to flush about 1/4 inch from the front.

    I pulled the mirror; numbering as follows. Top line: J C R H Bottom line: 60385 - 401

You are one of the lucky ones who have one...

Be right back. Gotta go super glue mirror to door, door to car, car to floor, garage door to floor, house to street.

Just got a reply from the seller-

    Dear mr.trishield,

Part numbers inside base: JC RH 60385-401. Several years ago I sold a 1970 RH mirror, NOS in the box, with all mounting parts and instructions. The instructions were for all the 1970 buicks, including the "A" bodies, Full-Size cars, and the Riviera. They all used the same mirrior. The only difference was the gaskets. There were 3 gaskets in the box, 1 for each series. The 3 gaskets each had a different part number. They each had different "angles" to postiion the mirror correctly. Hope this information helps. Thanks for your interest.

Looks like it has the same casting as Brad's

Ryans-GSX Have fun, life is short.

I have had a few NOS pass mirrors and I would say this mirror will go for 700-800 they are a B!^CH to find and when you do find one they are pricey little things.

Got one in the box. Would have to look to see what all is in there, but I always thought that they were for both upper and lower series. Gonna be interesting to see what it goes for

Makes me wonder what a driver quality one is worth. Might be worth selling mine.

I bid it up to 651.50 and against my better judgement at that. Looks like there were only 3 bidders that really wanted it. But that all you need.

Normally what happens is that a few RH mirrors show up on Ebay after a big sale like this. So timing is everything. You dont want to Ebay it with 2 or 3 others at the same time

It was just a thought; not that I'm very motivated to sell it just yet.
