Hello, Does anyone know what you need beside the tilt column to convert from a non-tilt floor shift column to a tilt floor shift column? Will the ignition switch work, will it hook up to the steering shaft? Any thing I need to know? Are there any parts I need to get? thanks for the help.

So what else beside the ignition switch?

I think I can use my existing lock set, just need the switch for a tilt that it fit's into?

I did this swap on my car, I don't remember having to change anything. If you were switching from a column mounted shift to a floor mounted shift (or vice versa) it would be a different story.

No, it's already a floor mounted automatic, just adding a tilt wheel.

I just checked a couple of catalogs & they both listed a ignition switch for tilt columns & a different switch for non-tilt columns.

The entire unit from the firewall to the stereing wheel is a different unit. You need to find an entire tilt column.

I've been looking for a floor shift tilt column, Wish I could find one. You should have no problem with the install.

Just the ignition switch if column is complete. MAke sure you have neutral safety switch if Automatic trans.
