I helped a friend of mine pull his engine to install Stage 2 heads and he found a piston with part of the ring land missing!
The piston is a TRW 455 .030 flat top with valve reliefs and thin rings (1/16, 1/16 & 3/16"?). This is the only set of pistons that I have seen like this, does anybody have one extra or know of where I can buy one?

If we can't find a piston, what would be a good set to replace these with? He doesn't mind going to .038 over if needed.

I 've never seen a flat top trw in a Buick. SOunds like it's time for new pistons all the way around. You may want to check out our wiseco piston deal, availble in dished and flat top, uses 1/16 inch rings. Jim Burek P.A.E. ENTERPRISES

How much compression will the wiseco flat tops make?

    Are they .038 over?

How much is a set of them?

    Thanks

With a 64 cc head and zero deck block, you should have around 12.7 to 12.8 to 1 compression. They are available in .038.
The pistons, with pins, spiral locks and 1/16 moly rings are $575 for the set. Jim Burek p.a.e. enterprises
