Cute: Everything I need to know about life, I learned from Noah's Ark... One: Don't miss the boat. Two: Remember that we are all in the same boat. Three: Plan ahead. ! It wasn't raining when Noah built the Ark. Four: Stay fit. When you're 600 years old, someone may ask you to do something really big. Five: Don't listen to critics; just get on with the job that needs to be done. Six: Build your future on high ground. Seven: For safety's sake, travel in pairs. Eight: Speed isn't always an advantage. The snails were on board with the cheetahs. (naahhhh!) Nine: When you're stressed, float a while. Ten: Remember, the Ark was built by amateurs; the Titanic by professionals. Eleven: No matter the storm, when you are with God, there's always a rainbow waiting. - Bill p
12.. Does any of that actually sound plausible from a scientific standpoint? Does the "Noah's Ark" thing even remotely sound plausible to a critically thinking adult?
Its called a parable..... https://www.google.com/search?rlz=1C1GCEU_enUS821US821&q=Dictionary#dobs=parable
About as plausible as this world being created by accident. The odds are mathematically impossible...
Here is some critical thinking… https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...iving-200-000-years-ago-scientists-claim.html
Synonyms and Antonyms of parable a story intended to teach a basic truth or moral about life the parable in which the repentant sinner is compared to the returning prodigal son who is welcomed home Synonyms of parable allegory, apologue, fable Words Related to parable beast fable, bestiary morality play legend, myth, mythology, narrative, tale There are two thing in this life. It either is, or it isn't. It can be proved by science, or it cannot. The theory of evolution has not yet been proven, but it goes a long ways past than having an imaginary creature. When you look at ALL of the religions in the world, it's hard to believe that only one of them can be right. And within those christian beliefs, some of them even dislike one another.
It's always funny how angry people get at what someone else believes. I don't care what you believe. Like really, I don't care and you can tell me, but it will affect me exactly zero, and have zero effect on my life. I find it odd that you have a problem with what other people believe, when it affects your life how much? Exactly zero.
Everyone has religion! What you believe is your religion. The word believe means the evidence behind you, that's all. So relax and enjoy the ride. You want to believe something different from someone else so be it. Mikey
Jay, if you dont believe in God, thats on you and your family. What your wife needs more than anything is someone to lead her. It's your responsibility as a man to lead her spiritually. Why dont you try to unlearn all that bullshit you learned at school and was forced fed to you. Science is the biggest bs out thier, just a bunch of theories that have no proof. All it is an intellectual obsevation of things that allready there. Man is not as smart as we think, everything you hold dear is a gift from God. The devil is real and so is God. The great flood is real and is documented in all great civilizations in all continents. Turn off the discovery chanell and open up the bible. What you are or what your condition is called having a hardend heart. Hardened by the world, blinded to see and most importantly feel the love and promises God has for us, thats you included. Dont trust churches??? That's ok. It was hard for me too, and sometimes i still do. The stories of the bible have been found true. For example those evil cities Sodom and Gomora have been found by archeologists. Nothing will grow on that land till today, ash and bodies in the ground.. But like i said the devil is real and his greatest joy is to have people confused and not beliving. And the devil runs the world with his fallen angels controlling things like goverment, music, media(it says so in the bible. And put your self in someones shoes who created us. If you created for example an ant farm and every ant in the farm, and some little ant came to you not beliving in you telling you to prove to him this and that, whouldent that be a slap in your face? Blind belief is called faith. The op has faith that Noah was real and i do too. Because we called to have faith.. Because then we would be like sand in the wind, just believing everything and falling for anything. Life is short on this earth, but it aint finished when we die. Even science has proved that the spirit has weight and when we die its acounted for. The god partical etc I hope i dont seem rude because it aint your fault you dont believe. I dont know your life, but just know I aint better than you or anyone BUT there is a God in heaven and looks at you like his own, he loves you, he cares for you, he protects you, he gives you strength just like he did Noah. And he is waiting for you to let go of what this world(the devil) has taught you and open your heart to him. Don't ever forget that the people that run this world dont loveyou , you are a number, a slave and lieing to you is natural to them. I got love for you Jay, i appriciate the balls it took for you to say what you feel.
Ronnie, I have to disagree. I'm an atheist, have been for most of my life and I'm not " like sand in the wind, just believing everything and falling for anything" Lets agree to disagree. Cheers Chris
Faith isn't blind, "the conviction of things not seen". Ask those in Japan at the end of WW2 if they believe in the atom!
I'm reminded of part of a sermon that I heard years ago, that I'd like to share. I think you'll get the analogy. A man walks the earth alone no other man, woman, or child. No buildings, cars, roads, animals, nothing, just as it once was. As he walks along the shoreline he stumbles upon a gold watch in the sand. He picks up this beautiful working masterpiece and tries to surmise how it got there. He thinks, well I suppose it's possible that with all the earths rich minerals and it's storms, earthquakes, volcano eruptions, and erosion, that maybe after a few million years the ocean spit this beautiful watch out...or maybe I should look to the creator.
