If the car was sitting for a long time, maybe over about 1 year, you may have stale gas. If that's the case, you'll need to replace the spark plugs and get that old gas out.

Believe it or not, gas begins to deteriorate after only 2 or 3 months. Bad gas will foul spark plugs. A wire brush will not clean a fouled spark plug.

Sometimes a few squirts of starting fluid into the carb may work if the gas is marginal, however. In that case keep it running and add a few gallons of fresh gas to the tank.

I have a small engine shop, problems from old gas is 99% of my business. I put sta-bil in my tank before I store my car for the winter.

Hope this helps you if that's your problem.

Has it been sitting outside? Perhaps there is moisture all over your dist. cap and wires. Try soaking them with wd-40. That will drive the moisture out. Don't forget the coil tower. If it starts, replace the parts. Your engine is probably flooded and your plugs could still be fouled.

    Good Luck.:TU:
