    Hey Guys,

I have a 1950 Buick Special, 6 Volt, straight 8. Today I changed the spark plugs, wires, coil but I can't get a spark. Anyone have any ideas of what it could be? Engine is turning over but seems just a tad to slow to start it. Now that I realize I am getting no spark I am wondering if its something else? I am out of ideas any help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED.

    Thanks

Try this: get on the negative side of the coil, the side that has the wire running to the distributor. Connect a test light between ground and this point. When cranking the engine, you should have a flashing light. If the light is on and does not flash, it is likely a set of points not closing, or a defective connection between the two. If the light does not illuminate, look for no voltage to the coil on the + side, or a short to ground. Let me know what you find and we'll go from there. Ray
