When the buses to the high schools don't run, there si NO SCHOOL! And even better, right in the middle of exam week. Now I can stay home all day and go on v8buick.com and eat some Rivioli for lunch.
Yeah well thats great! We have no school here either which means my girlfriend does not have to go in so now she wants me to vacuum the house and clean up instead of hangin on the board and eating ravioli!!! ou: Two sides to every story!!! later Tim -33 C and -46C with windchill
Geez, that's no good Tim! Mine had to go in to administer exams today. Thank goodness my work isn't cancelled or I'd never make it onto V8Buick :TU:
hahah.. i hear ya clint. the first thing i do in the morning is check my mail and go to the board. same at lunch and before i head out and sit in hour and a half traffic to go 20 miles home:grin: pete
I lost my internet privelages in my school library because I was looking at V8Buick. Or in thier words, "looking at hot rods, which is unrelated to school activity." That has nothing to do with your conversation, but that was one of todays events......thought I might share it. o No:
Well I don't know, you need to calculate compression ratios (math), learn how to avoid the cops (psych), talk to other people about cars and politics (social studies), read the installation instructions for that new cam (english), and you need to be strong to hand lift that tranny out of the car at the wreckers (P.E.).....figure out color combinations (art) and calculate acceleration curves and braking distances (physics).....so overall I think it has a lot to do with school. Not to mention a cool car will get you laid (am I allowed to say that on here?) and make friends, so that has a lot to do with school!!!!!!      If only my GF teacher type (not really anymore) could read this!! later Tim
At work today it was so :boring that we wanted to see if an egg would freeze and it did, things u do when u r bored. oh by the way it's -13F pat
Hey Tim, your list is awesome!!! :TU: Your list is my cirriculum at school, I can't count how many times I've fallen asleep in biology. :boring: We won't go to deep in the "cool car getcha laid" part, but lets just say my girlfriend digs my car. :3gears:
Not bad for an old guy, eh?? I graduated 17 years ago, I remember the days well though....had my stage 1 back then too.... Not sure how biology would fit in, maybe the animals you avoid on the road?? I'll tell ya though, without sounding like your parents, school is important, you won't realize if for a while yet, but it makes a huge difference, and it wil pay off later. Educated people get further, thats just the way it is. Try to stay awake! later Tim
Biology: http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=16038&highlight=finger My better half has taken to using car examples all the time in teaching math since working on the Buicks. The problem is she gets bombarded with car questions. I'll echo what Tim says. Did my diploma or degrees help me out in life? Nope. Can I outthink, outplan, outwork that 17 year old kid I used to be? YES!
Or... how about keeping those damn mice from eating up your wiring harness. Or... how to keep the birds in your pole barn from pooping on your uncovered "project car". Or...how to train that 6' black snake to kill the offending mice and birds and not to leave its skin in your trunk.
I always see lame brained stoner kids dropping out of school. They laugh now 'cause I "still go to school." But I'll be the one laughing when my Diploma/Degree gets my 70 Lark in the 10's, and their burger money can't even buy them a car.
I don't know, but I thought the "cool car will get you...." pretty well covered the Biology classo No:
